KITTEN SEASON- HERE -- Friday February 26th, 2010
Hello there!!
Well, as you can see on our front page we've already taken in one pregnant cat this year! Well, she is no longer pregnant!
Kitten season has already started, though not yet in full swing yet...!
Bella came to us with her 6 month old kitten, poor Bella is only about a year old and has already had 2 litters that we know of- she has probably had more as she is a very good mom and not nervous at all. Bunny, her 6 month old daughter was already in heat when she went into get spayed happily though she is now spayed and already has been adopted.
We have listed a few other kittens on our website. We have 3 stunning 4 month old shy kittens who will need some more time in our care but would like to line up homes for them, they are our G kittens and have just been listed.
On that note, kitten season will be here soon! In about 2 months or so. This is the time of year when it is so important to have animals spayed and neutered! Rescues and shelters are so overwhelmed this time of year. Donations and fostering is very important and helps us save more, as well as of course adoptions help as well and are very much needed- especially for rescues like us who have limted space. Adopting makes room for more in need!!
Rescue cats make purrfect pets!

**Update on Tilly girl! ** 02/25/08We want to THANK all OF YOU that have donated towards Tilly's vet costs- this has hepled a lot. After only 2 weeks after surgery she is back to herself- acting like nothing happened! She will be ready for her home this weekend, Saturday the 28th after she gets spayed tomorrow the 26th. The broken femur was due to malnutrion as a kitten, we rescued Tilly, Tiggy and 8 other cats just from one home. They weren't fed like they should have been and not to well taken care of. This was not something that was genetic, this is simply because she wasn't well taken care of. Thank god we got to her when we did, otherwise she would be suffering in pain and sooner or later passing away. Thank you again to everyone that has helped.
Please consider Tilly and Tiggie!

GOOD Things Are Happening -- Saturday September 13th, 2008
It is now September. It is the 2nd "wind" of kitten season. We are still getting dozens of calls a day for stray kittens and kitty cats. It is like a never ending cycle really! This has been one of the worst seasons to date. Thursday we took cats to be fixed at a shelter - well we came back with 9 Cats. Yup, not just our 3 but 5 kittens and a mom cat that were dumped in a carrier in the parking lot of the shelter. The shelter is WAY over crowded and turned to us for help. How can you say NO? The Mom is only 8-9 months old and the kittens are 4 months old. The Mom got pregnant at a WAY to young age- poor girl. But FF spayed and neutered everyone, tested and got them caught up on shots! They are all sweet babies who could do such a thing!? We have just about double our intake number from last year to this year. It has really been a rough season (finacially and space wise). Thinking about adopting? Check out our "animals list"- many kitties need a home(the 5 kittens and Mom will be posted later on today:)):)!!!
In other news...
We are coming up on our 2 year Anniversary, on October 14, 2008. We keep track of our adoptions (for the most part)- we have adopted out over 175 ANIMALS. In less then 2 years and for such a small group this is wondeful! We are so happy to have helped as many as we have.It is SO hard to believe it has already been 2 years, time has flown by and we miss so many of the wonderful animals that have come through our home and made their own spot in my heart. We (and our rescued animals)have been so lucky to find such wonderful familes to adopt our wonderful babies. We thank each and every one of you that has adopted from us or contributed to our cause. We can't do it with out you!!
More News..
We are still very very small-2 women and one foster home. We are starting a mobile cat grooming business. This business is to help raise the $2,000 to become a 501c3- non-profit organization. We plan on going into peoples homes, trimming cat's nails, cleaning ears, gluing nail caps on, brushing teeth, dry bating and furimating and even bathing. We hope to call it Four Paws In- Home Cat Grooming. We have placed calls and are starting on the paperwork. We hope to have it up and running by winter time. For our previous adopters we will discount our serives!:) We are unsure of prices now and our working on some numbers. If you have any suggestions or can helps us please feel free to let us know. Call 410 392 4898 or shoot us an e-mail fourpawsandtailrescue@yahoo.com.
Last but not least...
On October 11, 2008 Concord Pet in Surburban Plaza (Newark DE) will hold their annual Harvest Festival (please go to their website for more info www.concordpet.com). We are hoping to join them and have an adoption event and promote our new business. We will post more info later on.
We thank everyone who has contributed to our cause in anyway and to all who have adopted from us before (we have had many adopters come back and adopt a 2nd and even 3rd time!). We can't do this without you! Rescues/Shelters rely on adoptions- you can't take in more without adopting the ones you have! We have been very lucky. At times it has been very rough, emotionally, financially and space wise. We always keep one thing in mind- We are helping to save these animals who will DIE without us. How can you say NO to a poor pathetic face staring at you praying you will help them? That is something we will never understand.
Rusty's Surgery -- Tuesday July 1st, 2008
Well Rusty recieved his couple hundred dollars worth or surgery today! We were all very nervous for our little guy. However, he did very very well. Rusty is now home and resting and relaxing for now. He has a HUGE incision and a lot of stiches. He has to wear a cone while unsupervised, and looks so pathetic! They have sent out the tumor to be tested and we will know the results in a few days. PLEASE keep your fingers crossed and keep Rusty in your prayers. This is the most wonderful cat anyone can EVER meet and we are so happy to have the pleasure of having this guy in our rescue. We still do wish to find this guy a home after a couple weeks- depending on the outcome. Anyone who meets this beautiful guy will fall in love with him.
We would still appreciate any amount of donations.
We also would like to say a HUGE thanks to our vets office.
Cherry Hill Dog and Cat Hospital
They have helped us through some EXTREMELY hard times lately and have been so sympathetic and kind to us.
Thanks again.

PLEASE Help -- Saturday June 14th, 2008
As everyone knows we have rescued are 1st FELV postive cat, Rusty. We have had Rusty for about 2 months now. Rusty is the most amazing cat you could ever meet. Rusty is so sweet, gentle and doicile. He actually will give us kisses- he puts in face up to ours and bumps his nose on our nose. He is beatuiful inside and out.
Rusty has a growth on his rear leg that we just noticed last week. He was seen by a vet today and he is going to need surgery to have it removed. In cats, lumps/growths are always something to worry about. Unlike dogs, cats don't have just fatty tumors etc.. Lumps in cats are serious. Rusty needs surgery ASAP. As we all know surgery is expensive. The surgery is a couple hundred dollars and we just don't have it.
Just last Satuday we had to put a cat Knee High down, she was rescued along with Rusty (she is on our "Rainbow Bridge" page. Knee high had a heart mumur (the worst the vet had ever heard) and a few other things wrong. We tried all types of medicines but nothing helped, she couldn't breath and just wasn't happy.
We are very stressed and just worn out from everything. We would really appreciate any amount of donations right now or even adopting a cat/kitten! (as we still have 8 kittens and 4 adult cats needing homes- even if a family would be as kind to adopt/foster Rusty)
If you would like to donate, Paypal is on the right hand side and our address is

Thank you.

And 4 brand new babies that are only 1.5 weeks old now. We rescued their mom Saturday May 30, 2008 and Mia had her kittens June 1, 2008! They are so cute!

Wonderful Adoptions! -- Monday April 21st, 2008
We have had some awesome adoptions lately.
After 7 months in foster care Sandy finally went to her new home with Lola! Lola was pregnant when we rescued her and sadly lost all her kittens- she had to have an emergency c-section. Her and Sandy bonded in the 2 months Lola was here!
Bunny also went to her new home this weekend. We only had her for about 1 month. She also bonded with Lola (Lola has many friends!). She now lives with 2 other kitty friends and awesome family!
We hope to have some more wonderful adoptions for our other kitties. Especially Maggie, poor Maggie was living outside for god knows how long. She is an awesome very sweet girl.
3 Kittens need a home! -- Saturday April 12th, 2008
We have posted 3 wonderful sweet kittens. They are all 3 brothers. Hewie, Lewie and Dewie. Hewie and Lewie are TWINS! They must get adopted together. They won't be ready to go to their home for at least another week. They will be neutered and caught UTD on shots- including their rabies shot. They are all neg. for fiv/felv. Please go check them out!
LOLA -- Saturday March 8th, 2008
Earlier in February we took in a pregnant Mom cat. She was taken to a vet and recieved an X-ray there were indeed 5 kittens inside of Lola.
About 3 weeks past and Lola started to spot one night- we left her alone and didn't over react. Well Friday evening when nothing happend we called a vet and they said to let her alone for a little while longer. Saturday when nothing happened we took her to the vet. He checked her out and said nothing was wrong and to give her more time. Lola was perfectly happy and eating a good amount of food and was perfectly fine.
Tuesday we decided enough was enough and took her to the vet for an Emergency C-Section. A couple hours later we found out that Lolas kittens were dead- and there were 6 of them. He said they had been dead a couple of days. Lola had a serve uterus infection (just like Checkers- who we rescued back in March of last year & all her kittens were dead as well). Lolas kittens were full term and he couldn't explain how Lola was perfectly happy and not showing signs of any infection- when kittens die they relase toxins.
We are still grieving the loss but Lola is as happy as ever. She has been spayed and is UTD on shots- she will be posted in a day or so.
We are SO amazed by Lola and how sweet and loving she is. She is a wonderful cat and we want to find a home for her soon!
We would appreciate any dontations. Again we spend $2,000 on Buddy to have his suregery and now another $600 for Lolas surgery.

SOPHIE HAS BEEN ADOPTED! -- Thursday February 28th, 2008
After MONTHS in foster care Miss Sophie has finally found an awesome home! We are so happy!
We would lOVE to find Sandy a home as well.We have had her for oever 8 months now.She is an AWESOME AND SWEET CAT! PLEASE consider her. Adult cats are the HARDEST to find homes for, and poor Sandy had a hard start to life. She is a sweet girl who gets along with other cats and still has some spunk in her! PLEASE consider her! W We would also love to find Dennis and Evan a home (together). Evan is only 7 lbs and acts like a kitten! Dennis is very sweet and has gorgoues hair. Please consider them as well:)!
Kitten season is just about HERE!
Kitten Season -- Wednesday February 6th, 2008
Kitten season is fast approaching! It will be here in about a month.
In order for us to help as many moms and kittens we really need some donations. Buddies surgery cost us over $2,000 and has really put a hole in our pocket. He still would of gotten it no matter what! But we would really appreciate donations. We can't help any more stray animals now since we simply do not have the funds and this kills us! We also would like to have some kitties adopted out as well so we can have room to take in more. Please consider adopting or donating. We would really appreciate it.
If you would like to make a donation please send it to:
16 Commerical Plaza
PMB 102
Elkton, MD 21921. OR click the Paypal button--> to the right hand side under "Support Us".
Thank you!
