ADOPTION  APPROVAL  PROCESS

• Adoption application is completed and submitted automatically to FPTR via email
• Notification is sent to FPTR that application has been submitted; automated email is sent to applicant confirming application has been received by FPTR
• FPTR reviews adoption application
• If adoption application looks like a good fit for the kitten/cat, FPTR gets in contact with family (via e-mail or phone call) and speaks more to applicant and sets up an appointment time for family to come and meet kitten.
• Meeting is set and family meets the kitten/ cat
• If family wants to proceed and adopt the kitten or cat FPTR then checks references (calls 2 personal references and asks a few basic questions & vet reference if applicable)
• After checking references FPTR gets back incontact with the family to let them know if the reference check checked out ok
• Then and ONLY then is family approved to adopt the kitten or cat- after the intial meeting & reference check

FPTR has the right to refuse any adoption we do not feel is the best interest of the animal.

*Also NOTE: If you are interested in adopting, (unless the cat/kitten is in our adoption cage at Concord pet, in which this would be stated on the cats personal page) you MUST fill out an adoption application in order to MEET the kitten/cat- We DO not check references first- we CALL or E-MAIL the family first. If after meeting the kitten/cat you do not feel the kitten/cat is the best fit for your family you are under NO obligation to proceed to adopt*
