Freya is a 7 year-old special needs cat (hyper-thyroidism), who has lived with one family her entire life. Her family includes a mom, dad, and two dogs, her brothers Gizzy and Duncan. Freya has never lived with other cats, but would probably like the companionship of like-minded creatures. Freya's front paws are declawed and she has been an indoor cat her entire life. Freya is the ornery one in the family. She is curious and likes to play tricks on her canine brothers. She toys with them and then loves jumping up to heights they can't reach. She also loves sneaking up on them when they aren't looking. Freya can be shy at times. She watches what is going on from a perch and takes it all in before she decides to join the activity.
One of Freya's favorite past-times is sleeping. She finds a quiet perch and curls up to sleep away the afternoon. She loves her humans though, and will rouse herself from a slumber to climb down and say hello.
Freya loves to be petted and scratched on the head, right behind the ears. She does not particularly like having her back half scratched unless she asks for it. :-) Freya has been around some children, but doesn't seem too interested in them. She usually chooses to retreat to a high perch when children are around. She would probably feel more comfortable in a family with older children who know not to overwhelm her with affection. She likes attention, but loves her freedom of movement. The affection must be on her terms. :-) Freya talks to her humans and follows us around the house meowing. She is very smart and loves to just observe the world around her. Freya is a wonderful cat who deserves a calm home full of love.
