RICKIE JUNE 11, 2009

Rickie came to us with her litter of 2 week old kittens about 4 weeks ago from. Rickie was a beautiful Maine coon baby girl about 1 year old as you can see. Rickie had been living outside even during her pregnancy, she was a very sweet and wonderful little girl about 8lbs when she came to us. She took very good care of her 5 babies desptie the fact she didn't have to much milk to provide. About 1 week ago she started to vomit up everthing she ate, she couldn't hold anything down and then started to have really bad stool. She was taken to the vet right away and received a full blood work up, fluids and recieved an X-ray- which nothing was abnormal on the X-ray. The results came back the next day and everything was fine- she did have a high white blood cell count, and she was barely 5lbs. She left us on June 11, 2009. She held on as long as she could of her kittens and took excellent care of them. The vet believes this was an underlying issue that was sped up by the fact she had a litter of kittens, it put a lot of stress on her body, this is not something that we have to worry about with her babies. Her kittens are all doing great and are happy and healthy. I got very attached to Rickie in the few weeks she waqs here, she was beauitul not just because of her breed and coloring but because she had a great, sweet and gentle personality. She purred non stop every day se was here and even purred as she was went into kitty heaven. She was loved very mucn and I still think about her every day, I miss her so much and wish there someway to have made her better. She is up in Kitty Heaven playing wtih Toby, Rusty and all of the other rescued kitties that have passed away.
Watch over us and keep your babies safe!
Love you Rickie,
Jamie
